Anna Kirkpatrick

Violin

Anna discovered the violin at the age of four in her home town of Cambridge. Her love of music was fuelled by the Junior Guildhall School of Music of Drama which she attended from the age of 9 thanks to a scholarship where she win the first prize in the School's solo instrumentalists prize. Of equal influence were courses such as Procorda, Westonbirt and Dartington which focused on honing her chamber music skills. After reading Law at UCL, she returned to the Guildhall for her Masters of Music gaining honours in performance. Anna has recorded as a session artist for the likes of Paul McCartney and Guy Chambers and has performed regularly with Tom Baxter. She was the first violinist of the Rosendale Quartet from 2003 to 2005, whose engagements have included performances in the Buxton and Chichester festivals. She currently plays in a number of the leading amateur orchestras in London including Haydn Chamber Orchestra and Salomon Orchestra. Anna's teachers have included Krysia Osostowicz, Simon Fischer and Krzyzstof Smietana and she plays on a 1989 David Rubio violin.
