Ensemble Cordial
Choir & orchestra
The Ensemble Cordial is the name given to the changing group of singers and musicians who come together to perform chamber music, orchestral works and Choral works during the Musique-Cordiale festival. They also give concerts in Seillans at other times of the year. It first came together as the Ensemble Cordial in 2005 when Musique-Cordiale presented the Bach B minor Mass, under the direction of Errol Girdlestone, who lives in France and works with singers and musicians from all over Europe. Terrific results are produced by the Ensemble in a short space of time with a group of singers and players that includes good amateurs, professionals and music students. The choice of repertoire, plus the delicious food and jovial ambience, has become the driving force which makes the Musique Cordiale festival into a rewarding experience for everybody. It adds a much-appreciated series of concerts each August to the many attractions that draw residents and visitors to Seillans and the other attractive nearby towns and villages which play host to the festival.
