Dima Bawab

Soprano

Dima Bawab, Jordanian soprano, graduated with distinction from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) in Paris. She made her debut at the Opéra Comique in Paris conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

Dima has recently performed at the Opera National de Lorraine as Sophie in Massenet’s Werther, at the Opera Grand Avignon as Amour in Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice (Berlioz version), at Angers Nantes Opera as Barbarina in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Sandman and the Dew Fairy in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, at the Opéra de Dijon as First Servant in Cherubini’s Médée and at the Opéra de Montpellier as Fire and the Nightingale in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges as well as at the BBC Proms as Yniold in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

Dima has sung in Peter Brook’s A Magic Flute and with the Mozart Academy at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. She has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra & Palestine Youth Orchestra and was a regular member of the Monteverdi Choir. Dima makes her debut at Opera De Toulon end of this year as Berta in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and returns to Opera Grand Avignon in the lead role of Suzanne in Ganne’s Les Saltimbanques in May 2019.
