COVID-19: Festival Choir postponement/cancellation arrangements - Musique Cordiale 2020

We are writing to you individually to remind you of details of what you booked and paid for in 2020. This form allows you to provide us with your banking details for refunds of certain items (those who paid by card or PayPal will normally be reimbursed in the same way). We can also offer vouchers for future use and we invite you to make choices about how you would like us to handle optional arrangements following the CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT of the 16th annual festival scheduled for 1-16 August 2020. (You can alternatively download and print or email a copy of the PDF version of this form). You can part-complete and save this form as you complete it before submitting it or click the SUBMIT button at the bottom to send it to Musique Cordiale. (We will not know anything until you have successfully submitted the form; so please wait for confirmation before you leave the form)

  • WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

    As you know from our 2 emails (5 May and 11 May), as well as decreasingly optimistic messages in March & April, we have had to announce the sad news that we cannot hold the festival in France this summer.... and we are far from confident about Musique Cordiale in KENT IN NOVEMBER (to be confirmed).

  • YOUR OPTIONS NOW (May 2020): when you booked or when you were later invoiced, you paid for items under several headings. We cannot reimburse payment made for membership or as Friends or donors. You can choose what you want us to do with sums paid under the other headings below: participation, accommodation & dinners.

    We already have a record of your original membership, Friend and donation preferences for the people you booked for. (Of course, we invite anyone to upgrade to FRIEND membership or to make additional donations - and to complete a Gift Aid declaration if you are a UK taxpayer)

  • 2. Your choir participation(s)

    These are the funds originally payable to Musique Cordiale as your fee for participation in the 2020 Festival choir. You are entitled to FULL REIMBURSEMENT of this money for each of the people for whom you booked. However, as this is our only income for the year, we will be hugely grateful if you would consider rolling some or all of these payment over to the future. We can offer you a redeemable voucher for any amount that you are willing to have treated in this way. Alternatively, any amount can instead by turned into a DONATION to The Musique-Cordiale Trust with the option for us to claim Gift Aid and for some of you to treat it as tax-deductible

  • 3. Your accommodation

    If you booked and paid for accommodation, this is something that we have paid for from a hotel, chambre d'hotes (B&B) or home-owner who has let it to us for the purpose (this provides essential pensions or income in season for many local and second home-owners). We hope (in due course) to be reimbursed but some accommodation suppliers are offering us vouchers against future occupancy (as they have understandable cash-flow problems during the pandemic). You are ENTITLED TO FULL REIMBURSEMENT and we intend to refund all accommodation payments made to us unless you opt for a voucher instead or indicate that you wish to contribute the funds that you have paid as a donation (see above).

  • 4. Evening Meals with wine (Dinner packages)

    If you booked and paid for meals (either 8-night dinner packages or individual meals), you are ENTITLED TO FULL REFUNDS of payments made to us unless you opt for a voucher instead or indicate that you wish to contribute the funds that you have paid as a donation (see above).

  • YOUR OPTIONS (May 2020): a.) REFUNDS, b.) Future VOUCHERS or c.) DONATION - or d.) retain CREDIT NOTE and decide later

    Please choose how much a.) you would like us to REIMBURSE to you or (optionally) b.) you would prefer to roll over for future use with Musique Cordiale (in Britain or when feasible, in France or elsewhere) as a VOUCHER or c.) you willingly consent to translate into a DONATION to The Musique-Cordiale Trust (and, if you are a UK taxpayer complete a GiftAid declaration) or d.) of the sum due of which you wish to retain your rights as holder of your existing CREDIT NOTE Note: This is the default for all funds covered by the NOTE - on the terms specified under d.) below - unless or until you make different choice and let us know by email or complete this form . It has paid for the conductors, accompanists and Academy teachers and many other costs of the Festival and of Musique-Cordiale in Kent.   • This means that you do not decide yet, instead choosing that Musique Cordiale retains your funds and you continue as holder of the CREDIT NOTE that has been sent to you but retain the right, giving a months's notice or in answer to further questionnaires in the future, to decide later how or if it be spent, retained against future use, donated or repaid. This allows Musique Cordiale to retain the funds for essential cash-flow for the time being but you retain your rights to the funds. (Any funds left under terms of the credit note will be retained, used and repayable by Musique-Cordiale Services Ltd on behalf of the relevant Musique Cordiale organisation(s) (or the common festival, good name, goals or events) for which they were originally intended when you enrolled in the 2020 choir).
