Dima Bawab

Soprano

Jordanian soprano Dima Bawab studied at the King Hussein National Conservatory in Amman. In 2007, she graduated with distinction from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) in Paris.

She made her début at the Opéra-Comique in Paris conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Dima has recently performed at the Angers Nates Opéra in the roles of Barbarina from Mozart’s « Marriage of Figaro » and Sandman and the Dew Fairy from Humperdink’s « Hansel and Gretel », at the Opéra de Dijon in the role of First Servant in Cherubini’s « Médée » and at the Opéra de Montpellier in the roles of Fire and the Nightingale in Ravel’s « L’Enfant et les Sortilèges » as well as at the BBC Proms in the role of Yniold in Debussy’s « Pelléas et Mélisande » conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner.

Dima has sung in Peter Brook’s A Magic Flute and with the Mozart Academy at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. She has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Aurora Orchestra & Palestine Youth Orchestra and she was a regular member of the Monteverdi Choir. In 2017, Dima makes her débuts at Opéra Grand Avignon in the role of L’Amour in Gluck’s « Orphée et Eurydice » and at Opéra National de Lorraine à Nancy in the role of Sophie from Massenet’s « Werther » in 2018.
