Soprano
Kiera Lyness studied the violin at Trinity College of Music and on a scholarship at Utrecht Conservatorium. She studied singing with Enid Hartle. Her early work as a singer was in the churches of London, in particular Holy Trinity, Brompton.
Kiera has worked with The D’Oyly Carte Opera, BBC Singers and extensively with London Voices, with whom she travelled internationally, and recorded many film soundtracks including the Harry Potter and Star Wars series. She has a wide experience of opera, oratorio, recital and ensemble work. Her main operatic roles have been Pamina, Despina, Gretel, Serpina (La Serva padrona), Mme Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirector), Berta (The Barber of Seville), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring).
Kiera joined the Royal Opera House Chorus in 2006 and has sung and covered numerous roles, including Despinio (The Greek Passion), Papagena (The Magic Flute), Poussette (Manon), A Flowermaiden (Parsifal), La Charmeuse (Thaïs, in concert), The Milliner (Der Rosenkavalier), Elizabeth’s Attendant (Tannhäuser), Youca (L’Étoile), A Bridesmaid (Lohengrin), A Female Convict (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) solo roles in 1984, Anna Nicole and the ballet Les Noces.
