Adam Jarman

Originally from Kent, Adam Jarman is a baritone currently studying for a PGDip at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Peter Wilson. His studies this year are supported by the Alice Orrell and A & N Kendall Award. Prior to this, Adam completed an MMus at the RNCM and a BMus at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he was a choral scholar.
Most recently, Adam appeared as Blansac in La Scala di Deta at the RNCM. Other operatic roles include The Speaker of the Temple The Magic Flute (Clonter Opera) and cover Host Of The Garter Inn Sir John in Love (British Youth Opera), as well as Dr. Falke Die Fledermaus, Bartolo Le Nozze di Figaro, Der Lakai Ariadne auf Naxos and Father Frost The Snow Maiden (all RNCM). Productions as chorus include Rigoletto (Opera Holland Park), La donna del lago and Viva la Diva (Buxton International Festival), and Sir John in Love (British Youth Opera). This summer he joined the chorus for The Grange Festival performing in The Rake’s Progress and Tosca, in which he also covered the role of Angelotti.
On the concert platform, Adam has sung the roles of Pilate in Bach’s St John Passion, Judas in Elgar’s The Apostles, and Sargeant Bunn in Joanna Marsh’s Pearl of Freedom in a recording for Signum Classics. Adam has also performed as baritone soloist for Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C Minor, Fauré’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, and Vaughan-Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.

Outside of opera and concert singing, Adam is a freelance choral singer and is currently a Lay Clerk at Manchester Cathedral. He was previously a Voces8 Scholar and a Lay Clerk at Rochester Cathedral, and has regularly worked with St Martins Voices.
