Alexander Franklin

Alex is an oboist from London, currently studying at the Royal College of Music. His interests span across genres, though he is particularly passionate about performance of Contemporary music. In 2023 he was a member of the London Sinfonietta Academy.
Alex is also a keen chamber musician, and works with a number of ensembles. He is a founding member of Aeolian Winds and the Ashton Ensemble, a new wind octet formed of top groups from the London music colleges. For the past two years he has attended the Hellensmusic course, where he has performed with soloists from top European orchestras, such as the Berlin Philharmonic.
Last year Alex was the winner of the Grimaldi Cor Anglais competition.
