Gabriela Garrubo, voice and Peter Søreide guitar

Gabriela Garrubo is a Norwegian-Brazilian jazz singer who studied at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, and in May 2023 she released her debut album “Rodando.”Together with jazz guitarist Peter Dybvig Søreide she will perform music from her album, and you will experience a balance between modern and retro sounds, blending Scandinavian jazz with influences from 60s and 80s Brazilian music. The lyrics, sung in both English and Portuguese, explore themes of self-discovery and finding strength in a beautiful, yet chaotic and often unjust world. The duo will also perform classic Brazilian music from composers such as Tom Jobim and Joao Gilberto.
