James Lowe

Conductor

James Lowe, an accomplished British conductor and already a household name in the north of England and Scotland, is Chief Conductor of the Vaasa City Orchestra in Finland and the Prussian Chamber Orchestra in Prenzlau near Berlin where he is currently based.

He is also Principal Conductor of the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble and Orchestras Advisor & Conductor of the Senior Orchestra of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.

Recent engagements include concerts with the Sczcecin Philharmonic, a residency with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and a concert with Sistema Scotland and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra which was televised on the BBC. Educated at the University of Edinburgh, James has studied with leading conductors, including Jorma Panula, Neeme Järvi, Bernard Haitink and Valery Gergiev. James is also active as an educator and teacher of conducting.
